Note From Head Coach Setu Naseri

8th September 2011
By Setu Naseri

On a personal note, as some of you may or may not be aware, I am standing down as senior club head coach. I personally would like to thank Tabai Matson who had the confidence in me taking the reins once he returned to NZ and for taking me out of my comfort zone to be involved in a club that will always mean something special to me. I would also like to thank the Committee/s that I have worked with over the past three years, the support staff of physios and masseuse, the management team who have been a wealth of knowledge and experience to call on and also to keep me honest and the coaching group who have worked alongside me these past three seasons. The achievements have been many and would not have been possible without the tireless work and contribution of the aforementioned, our generous sponsors and also the sacrifices made by the families of our players and staff. Finally to the players, I reserve most of my gratitude for you. Thank you for your commitment, drive and passion to be a part of the resurgence and rebirth of the oldest club on the Gold Coast. Our game is one steeped in traditions and its history and over the past three seasons I have been fortunate and humbled by how hard and how proud you have worked in representing our club. I will not be gone from the club and will be involved in some capacity but hope to catch up with one and all at our Presentation night.
